Dan Ivie - MPT
Dan Ivie was born and raised in Farmington, New Mexico where he was involved
in high school athletics including golf, basketball, baseball, soccer and
skiing.
He
graduated from Farmington High School in 1989. He attended Dixie State
College where he worked on his generals. He then transferred to Utah
Valley State College where he began working on the requirements for
physical therapy school. He was accepted at Texas Tech University in
Lubbock, Texas where he received a Masters Degree in Physical Therapy.
He Graduated in May 2000. He immediately started working in Summit
County. He helped found and operate Summit Valley Physical Therapy
and Sports Medicine in Kamas and Coalville, UT - satellite clinics
to Heber Valley Physical Therapy. He worked in the communities of Kamas
and Coalville for 2 years. During that time he opened a fitness center
in Coalville and worked closely with the athletes of both North and
South Summit. It was at this time that he first began working as a
volunteer therapist for the United States Ski Team.
Dan
has spent 3 years working with the USA Development Ski Team. This work
has taken him to Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Germany, France, Argentina
and many different resorts in the USA. In July of 2002 he opened his
own clinic; Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine at Kimball Junction.
Dan has been married to LauraLee Berg Ivie for 10 years. LauraLee is a Registered
Nurse at Heber Valley Medical Center. They have 3 children. Andrew - 6, AshLee
- 3 and Austin 5 months. They currently live in Midway, Utah.
Dan
enjoys all sporting activities including skiing (snow and water), golf,
basketball, and mountain biking. This interest in sports is what helped
him choose to be a physical therapist.
His skills and training allow him to treat all types of sports related
injuries. He enjoys working on knees and shoulders, but has recently
taken a keen interest in treating the spine.
